SLS-free hydroxyapatite toothpaste.

Quick answer

SLS-free hydroxyapatite toothpaste is toothpaste that uses hydroxyapatite and does not include sodium lauryl sulfate. Klyyr One+ is SLS-free. It uses sodium cocoyl glutamate as the surfactant and has a lower-foam brush than a typical SLS paste.

SLS-free is a formula fact, not a medical claim. Some people prefer it if SLS pastes leave their mouth feeling irritated. One+ also contains no artificial dyes and 0 ppm fluoride.

  • 01

    What SLS is

Sodium lauryl sulfate is a common foaming surfactant in toothpaste. Foam is not the same thing as cleaning.

  • 02

    What One+ uses instead

Sodium cocoyl glutamate. The paste still cleans; it foams less. That is expected.

  • 03

    What SLS-free is not

It is not a canker-sore treatment, a sensitivity treatment, or proof that One+ is gentler for every mouth.

What the cited studies actually measured

SLS-free is about the surfactant. Hydroxyapatite evidence is a separate question. The studies below concern other HAp formulas, not SLS irritation trials of One+.

  1. Sensitivity study · small HAp arm · different formula

    Dentin sensitivity

Hydroxyapatite toothpastes have been studied for dentin sensitivity and interaction with exposed tubules. One cited HAp arm included only ten participants and used a different formula.

  2. 18-month adult clinical trial · different formula

    Caries endpoint

In one 18-month adult study, a 10% HAp toothpaste was non-inferior to 1450 ppm fluoride for the primary caries endpoint. The study tested a different formula.

  3. In-vitro experiment · different commercial paste

    Surface stains

An in-vitro experiment measured stain removal after 180 seconds for another commercial HAp toothpaste. That is laboratory data, not a Klyyr whitening result.

How to choose

SLS-free HAp may fit if

You want hydroxyapatite toothpaste without SLS or artificial dyes, and you are comfortable with a lower-foam brush.

Keep a different paste if

Your dentist prescribed a specific fluoride or desensitizing toothpaste, or you prefer a high-foam clean and do not need to avoid SLS.

Irritation is personal

If your mouth stays irritated, stop and ask a dentist or physician. Do not treat a label exclusion as a diagnosis.

In short

SLS-free tells you the surfactant. Still read the rest of the formula.

01 Does One+ contain SLS?

No. One+ has no sodium lauryl sulfate. It uses sodium cocoyl glutamate.

02 Why does SLS-free toothpaste foam less?

SLS is a strong foaming agent. Removing it usually lowers foam. Lower foam is not a sign the paste is failing to clean.

03 Is sodium lauroyl sarcosinate the same as SLS?

No. They are different surfactants. Some hydroxyapatite brands are SLS-free and still use a sarcosinate. One+ uses sodium cocoyl glutamate.

04 Will SLS-free toothpaste stop canker sores?

One+ is not a canker-sore treatment. Some people prefer SLS-free toothpaste if SLS pastes bother their mouth. Ask a dentist about recurrent sores.

05 Does SLS-free also mean dye-free?

Not always. One+ has no SLS and no artificial dyes. Read each brand's full list.
