What the cited studies actually measured

There is no Klyyr-versus-Davids clinical trial on this page. Cited studies tested other hydroxyapatite formulas.

  1. 18-month adult clinical trial · different formula

    Caries endpoint

In one 18-month adult study, a 10% HAp toothpaste was non-inferior to 1450 ppm fluoride for the primary caries endpoint. The study tested a different formula.

    Read the 18-month non-inferiority study

  2. Sensitivity study · small HAp arm · different formula

    Dentin sensitivity

Hydroxyapatite toothpastes have been studied for dentin sensitivity and interaction with exposed tubules. One cited HAp arm included only ten participants and used a different formula.

  3. In-vitro experiment · different commercial paste

    Surface stains

An in-vitro experiment measured stain removal after 180 seconds for another commercial HAp toothpaste. That is laboratory data, not a Klyyr whitening result.

How to choose

One+ may fit if

You want the hydroxyapatite percentage printed, both nano and micro named, and a short ingredient list you can read in one pass.

David's may fit if

You want a specific Hydroxi flavor, an unflavored paste, or an EWG VERIFIED SKU. Those are legitimate reasons to choose Davids.

Packaging is not the whole decision

Both use metal tubes. Recycle where accepted locally. The formula still matters more than the tube story.

In short

Two metal tubes can still hide different amounts of the same mineral. Ask for the percentage.

01 Does David's disclose its hydroxyapatite percentage?

The public Hydroxi pages reviewed for this comparison list nano-hydroxyapatite and do not state a percentage. One+ discloses 10% nano + micro.

02 Are both SLS-free?

Yes, on the labels compared here. Both list sodium cocoyl glutamate.

03 Is One+ EWG VERIFIED?

No. Davids states EWG VERIFIED on Hydroxi pages. One+ publishes independent lot testing on the Labs page instead. Those are different programs.

04 Which is better for kids?

Neither page replaces a pediatric dentist. One+ is not a dedicated kids flavor. Use ADA amounts and spit. See hydroxyapatite toothpaste for kids.

05 Is Klyyr better than David's?

This page is a public-label comparison, not a Klyyr trophy. Exact-Net's 2026 ranking named Klyyr Best Overall and Davids Best Seller. Read the Best Overall recap. There is still no head-to-head clinical trial cited here.
