How to recycle a toothpaste tube

If your city lists aluminum tubes

Empty the tube, separate the HDPE cap if they tell you to, and follow their prep rules.

If your city only lists cans

Do not assume the tube counts. Ask. If they say no, the honest place for it is the trash, not a contaminated recycling bin.

If another brand told you every tube is recyclable

Many tubes are plastic laminates with a store drop-off, not solid aluminum. One+ is aluminum. The other brand's drop-off may not want it.
